Hydrogen-as-a-Service™

At our planned flagship location in Prince George, Hydra is creating a living template to show how hydrogen supply and demand can profitably come together right now. Our unique Hydrogen-as-a-Service™ (HaaS) approach converts existing heavy-duty vehicles in exchange for long-term, local, fuel contracts.

Companies along the hydrogen value chain want to see their hydrogen supply or infrastructure come to market, and HaaS can get them there. Hydra looks for partners who want to expand their hydrogen distribution network, create refuelling solutions, and are looking to start monetizing their hydrogen at scale.

Hydra is working to offer HaaS along a corridor running on Highway 16,  connecting Canada’s third largest port of Prince Rupert, through northern BC to Prince George, and into the heartland of Edmonton, Alberta. This profitable template can be replicated outside the areas of our main operations by qualified partners allowing for a faster scale up of hydrogen adoption around the world.

What is Hydrogen-as-a-Service™ (HaaS)?

We’re uniquely able to decarbonize heavy-duty trucks today due to our innovative approach connecting existing low-carbon hydrogen supply and demand in a way that helps companies monetize their hydrogen and commercial fleets secure local, long-term fuel contracts. Here’s how it works.

How the HaaS Model Works

Install Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Region Close to Target Fleets

Partners determine a region where they want to provide low-carbon hydrogen. From there they are responsible for procuring required hydrogen infrastructure.

Retrofit Fleet’s Existing Diesel Engines

Hydra’s Hydrogen-Diesel Co-Combustion Conversion kits are installed by Hydra or an identified installation partner.

Fleet Operators Commit to an Exclusive Contract to Buy Hydrogen

Fleets sign a long-term fuel contract to purchase hydrogen exclusively from the HaaS provider.

Hydrogen at a Fixed Price

These contracts provide hydrogen at a fixed price. This stability in fuel pricing allows fleets to quote jobs for their customers with confidence.
