Hydrogen-as-a-Service

At our flagship location in Prince George, Hydra has created a living template to show how hydrogen supply and demand can profitably come together right now. Our unique Hydrogen-as-a-Service™ (HaaS™) approach converts existing heavy-duty vehicles at zero cost to fleet owners in exchange for long-term, fuel contracts at diesel-equivalent prices in locations where hydrogen is produced.

Companies along the hydrogen value chain want to see their hydrogen supply or infrastructure come to market, and Hydrogen-as-a-Service can get them there. Hydra’s target for HaaS licensees include those who want to expand their hydrogen distribution network, who create refuelling solutions, and are looking to start monetizing their hydrogen at scale in the most profitable way.

Hydra offers Hydrogen-as-a-Service ourselves along a corridor running on Highway 16,  connecting Canada’s third largest port of Prince Rupert, through northern BC to Prince George, and into the heartland of Edmonton, Alberta. This profitable template can be replicated outside the areas of our main operations by qualified licensees allowing for a faster scale up of hydrogen adoption around the world.

How the Flexible
HaaS Model Works

Install Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Region Close to Target Fleets

HaaS licensees determine a region that they want to provide full cycle hydrogen. From there they are responsible for procuring hydrogen and installing a hydrogen refuelling station.

Retrofit Fleet’s Existing Heavy Duty Trucks at No Up-front Cost

Hydra’s proprietary kit is not available for standalone purchase, it is part of the HaaS template which opens the door to create demand for hydrogen supply. The conversion is done with no upfront cost to operators, the HaaS licensee pays for it.

Fleet Operators Commit to an Exclusive Contract to Buy Hydrogen

In return for the conversion fleets sign a long-term fuel contract to purchase hydrogen exclusively from the HaaS provider.

Hydrogen at a Fixed Price

These contracts provide hydrogen at a fixed price at parity with a diesel forecast. This stability in fuel pricing allows fleets to quote jobs for their customers with confidence.
