Hydra Energy has been chosen to participate in a real-world pilot project to test its hydrogen-diesel co-combustion technology on heavy-duty trucks operating at the Port of Prince Rupert. The project is a key part of the Integrated Marketplace Program, a $23-million initiative funded by the Government of British Columbia and administered by Innovate BC and the BC Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE). The program aims to accelerate the adoption of zero- and low-emission vehicles (ZEVs and LEVs) in the province.

The pilot will demonstrate the performance, reliability, and emissions reduction potential of Hydra's technology in a demanding, high-mileage logistics environment. Hydra's unique approach involves converting existing diesel trucks to run on a blend of hydrogen and diesel, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions without requiring operators to purchase entirely new, expensive vehicle fleets.

This deployment is a significant step for Hydra, highlighting the company's role as a key player in BC's strategy to decarbonize the hard-to-abate transportation sector, particularly heavy-duty freight.
